5 months from today I will be a married woman, I should probably start planning.

The Proposal
So pretty much I don't have time to type details, here are the highlites:
Jon COMPLETELY surprised me.
I didn't answer him for a few seconds because I was SPEECHLESS.
I had cue cards and still struggled
The ring we are having made won't be ready for a few weeks
The ring he gave me is getting resized but will move to my right hand
It was PERFECT
I can't believe he pulled it off.
The UTES won!
His sister and brother in law helped with the whole thing
He knew this would be a perfect setting
It was FREEZING!
I repeatedly asked if he was being serious
He knew not to put it on the jumbotron during the game
Apparently I saw the ring box a few days before...
I can't believe it really happened
There is video footage of this whole event
Im thankful for the footage because otherwise I wouldn't have remembered what happened
Jon was prepared for me to pass out
I finally said YES
He accomplished his goal of having it be a complete surprise
The plan is we are getting married on MAY 15th!
HOLY CRAP I'M ENGAGED!

I hope you enjoyed the condensed version. I still am trying to figure out what happened. More details to come when I remember them or watch the video again.

INTRODUCING.......

The future Mr and Mrs. Hansen.

More details to come.

I am one lucky girl...
I got a visit from a cute boy *randomly at work who didn't want to show up empty-handed so he brought me these for no reason at all. I was speechless.
*I honestly had no idea. He told me he was one his way to work. We were walking out the door to go visit a patient. My boss stepped out the door and had this look on her face. I locked the door and stepped out to see him walking down the hall with flowers and a big smile. He's the one who had a big test today. Shouldn't I be the one doing something for him? How lucky am I...

Even though you aren't quite over... I still have some pumpkins to carve, seeds to eat, games to attend, and a party to rock... Thank you October for being so good! Oh and I saw this on Facebook. The things parents will do for their children....

Dear October, Where did your friend September go? Even though you snuck up on me, I am glad you are here. Here is what I look forward to you bringing me:

  • More football games
  • General Conference
  • a VIDA reunion?
  • watching my baby brother turn one year older
  • the marriage of the final friend (and the best one... I'm the winner, I held out the longest!)
  • Possible snow
  • Crisp fall mornings
  • Possibly hearing from a grad school or two
  • more fun times
  • one month closer to 2010
  • Colors changing
  • a trip to San Fran
  • a new employee in my office (I am so excited!)
  • HALLOWEEN!!
  • and hopefully peace of mind about a few life decisions.
Thank you for coming. Please be nice to me and don't go too fast. Your other 9 friends flew by and I'm not sure I'm ready for 2009 to be over, it's been too fun! Your friend, Aubrey

I've got the travel bug again....

"The thrill of going NEW places is ADDICTIVE. You do it once, you want to do it FOREVER." -Edwin Santos "An airport is a high-way that takes us from the IMAGINED to the REAL." Too bad I have to wait until 2010 to go anywhere.... let the countdown begin. 15 weeks until 2010!

Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves. -J.M. Barrie

Go UTES! It is officially my favorite time of year... utah football starts today! I will be on the field like I have been the last 2 years. Can't think of any place I'd rather be.

Update.
How much did it cost to save my leg?
Roughly...  $6215.00
Gotta love  the ridiculous price of medical care.
Lucky for me I was only responsible for 50%.
I'm extremely grateful for...
my job
crappy insurance
double coverage 3/4 of the way through this process
the small amount of financial responsibilities I have
my leg
Another reason why I love being an adult! (insert sarcasm here)
*Total cost of MY Peru trip (even though I still refuse to blame it on the wonderful country of Peru....)
just shy of $9,000
Worth it? YOU BET!

BUTT....
I was SO excited to see this movie.
I dragged Jon to it (with the help of some of his friends. Thanks Hannah and Amy!)
I have to say I was a little disappointed.
WAY too many butt shots.
Kind of a weird story, not exactly what I thought it would be
some things that still don't make sense.
 LOVE Rachel McAdams.
Eric Bana could have looked better.
Waste of my time?
What else was I really going to do at 10:30 on a saturday night?
And I got to see Hannah and Amy....
and spend time with Jon!

Red Pine Hike
It was an amazing hike, the lake was a beautiful color and it wasn't too hot (it actually rained on us a bit but it was nice) I love hiking! It actually made me want to go camping. Oh how I love the outdoors. Sorry the picture is fuzzy, it was taken on a cell phone.

You may ask "What in the heck could be wrong with you and how did you ever get so lucky to get a deal...all of this for only a few grand?" Well some try to blame this on Peru. Peru I don't blame you, I love you and would go through it all again to have you back! Other then that theory...nobody has any idea. Don't be jealous, for a few grand you can have all this too. Well maybe not, I got lucky! __________________________________________
* PS: I found out the Residents name last night, Dr. Nathan Friedline, he saw my name on the board and came to check on me (still didn't introduce himself but I caught a peak at his badge.)

* I did a little math and if my bills end up being $2000 ish dollars I only paid $25 for each of those bullet points. I'd say for most of them that's a STEAL!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!
Hope you enjoy celebrating my favorite holiday as much as I do!

My Saturday...
Got up and decided to take my newly purchased iHome for a test drive. I took it out back and had my own little tribute concert to MJ (Man in the Mirror and PYT are my new favorites) while floating in the pool and enjoying the nice sun we FINALLY have.
Then Emri, Katie, and Jason came over. Emri and I played in the pool for awhile and then took a pretend nap on the hot cement (she had to take a real nap but tried to convince grandma that this would do.)
DEMOLITION DERBY time! It was my first demolition derby and it won't be my last. #210 died right off the bat. Next round #176 was the winner! Steve went crazy and took out 6 cars all by himself. Rocket Ron and his station wagon went a little crazy on everyone, there was a roll over and one guy had it out for another one and wouldn't stop hitting him even after he was up on the barricade, the officials step in and the guy got out of his during the derby (not safe).
I decided I wanted to drive in one, I think it would be fun. (yep thats the car I picked,  lucky #176!)
I ended my lovely day with a trip to Village Inn for a lovely breakfast dinner with the crew. I love days like this. However next Saturday will be even better because it is the 4th of JULY, one of my FAVORITE holidays (it is tied with the 24th, thank you Pioneers!) And I get the 3rd off, what could be better?

Ragnar Relay
Run #1 (7.4 uphill, dirt, and a slight head wind) I felt great and kept a steady pace up until mile 6.3 then I had to stop and take quick walking breaks (told myself no but I was walking faster then I was running so I let it go for a few seconds) but still finished in 70.17 (not that great of a time but i'm still proud minus the walking part). Felt good, my team started to think I was on something because I had so much energy.
Run #2 (4.2 in the dark add in a little wind just for fun) besides the fact that I took a slight 60 second detour and felt like I had tunnel vision a couple of times I still made it in 33.23. Still feeling GREAT and creeping out my team slightly with the ridiculous amounts of energy.
Run #2.5- 2 miles uphill with the madre, had to get out and push her to her limits. She thanked me later when she came in a few seconds under her predicted time. All 12 members on my team asked what I was on because of the incredible amount of energy I had (I may have been jumping, dancing, singing in the car and parking lot at 2 am)
Run #2.75- Final mile with Sharlyn. She stopped and walked. I didn't think this was acceptable, so I got out and made her run.
Run #3 (2.5 miles flat with a wicked head wind) Took off like a champ and kept going. I was nervous because I HAD to come in under my predicted time (I was set at an 8:45 min/mile and came in 5 mins under on the 1st run and 5 mins on the second. Talk about pressure) I had to get a few road kills along the way and finally made it to the finish line 18:20 later.(7:28 per mile, granted it was only 2.5 miles but still, I'm not sprinter) Holy crap that seems fast. Still feeling good though.
Run #3.5- Mama Lang needed to step up her game so I got out and ran the last 1.5 miles with her and felt like a champ. Pushed her again and she was glad I did. Still felt like I could run a few more miles but opted for breakfast instead.
This year it was an amazing race, I wish I could run it again. Oh well time to focus on something else.  Thanks to all of my team members for making it so fun! Looking forward to next year!
GO LOTOPA!
